Katrina’s effect on the internet
Several US Web sites, including Weather.com, became temporarily unavailable while people were trying to find all information available on Hurricane Katrina.
Weather.com was down from 6PM to 9:15PM EST on sunday night. The National Weather Service Web site’s availability dropped to 29% from 11:15 to 11:45AM EST on monday.
Multiple other web sites were affected by Hurricane Katrina including CNN.com, USAToday.com and ABCNews.com.
